There is a pervasive state of decay to this city.  The relentless heat and moisture tear everything from structures to streets slowly apart.  There is a charm in that though.  Life goes on, sometimes ending, but always rising in another form.

My friend Janine, cooling down in a small bar on a 95 degree day.  When I showed her this picture all she said was, "Nice cleavage!" Indeed.

Dave and Janine and I took a tour of the warehouse district this day, walking around from air-conditioned gallery to gallery.  The temperature outside was in the mid 90's as every day had been since we arrived in New Orleans.  The deserted streets echoed with the distant sounds of a sleepy city.

"Uncle John's Apple Farm" reminded me of all those places you would go to as a child and think, "this is supposed to be great?" It was basically a tourist trap in the middle of no where, but it did have charm. Doug, Ed & I drove there on a crisp autumn afternoon and wandered around the buildings and fields of what is obviously set up to be MUCH MORE than it was that day. I only wish I had had more than my phone with me, as there would have been so many other great shots.
